God not necessary for human beings - Hawking
AWESOME. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6811FN20100902

"Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist," Hawking writes.

...FYI for people not in the know: Stephen Hawking is a physicist. Not a biologist, and by no means an evolutionary biologist.

I can't link to the documentary, it was on a DVD. At the risk of sounding condescending, try googling it.

Your original post makes it sound as though the idea of spontaneous creation is new. It isn't. It's been around for decades. Personally, it only verifies the Creation theory of the universe being formed in an instant by God. Not all scientists are atheists.

Ah. Then it is now my turn to recommend a website. http://www.expelledexposed.com/

Ben Stein has been known to resort to unscrupulous means such as editing cunningly (For instance, if, to an intelligent question I answer, "No, I do not think this is the case; people are people, after all." he would probably have a voice-over "So, what do you think?" then insert "No, I do not think" and cut it off there. Or have you not come across this kind of ahem-Hollywood editing before?) answers from atheists and evolutionary biologists so as to paint them with a tar brush. Pardon my mixed metaphors.

... my original post does no such thing. I probably should have been more awake when posting it, but if I remember correctly, it was something along the lines of

AWESOME. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE6811FN20100902

"Because there is a law such as gravity, the universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist,"

with a missing attribution of the sentence to Hawking and the clarification that Hawking is a theoretical physicist which now exists on my post.

And to science, the idea of spontaneous creation is very new indeed. And thus, I would like to ask the question - who created god?

Incidentally, I linked that website so that you would not build your house upon sand.

Did you know that Stephen Hawking proved the existence of God in 1966? link

Uhh... you'll probably have to give me that link again.

Have you read the one in your original post?

I'm at the beginning. However, I wasn't the one who just used one of Hawkings's books in an argument (the scientific kind).

*Hawking's

Incidentally, I think the publication the author of the link you sent me was referring to this - http://prl.aps.org/abstract/PRL/v17/i8/p444_1 Nowhere does it mention that Hawking meant god had been proven. The author substituted the word 'god' for the word 'singularity'. I suspect the author himself did not read the original article.

Have fun.

Incidentally, this might be easier to access for you since it's free access. If you can figure out what the terms mean, of course. http://adsabs.harvard.edu/full/1966ApJ...145..544H

And once again you descend to insult my intelligence.

This conversation is over.

Hey, I'm just saying even I had to look up the terms to see what they meant. Those are graduate-level physics terms. Have you even glanced at the article to see what I mean?

Your call.
